Allie Stabile paints abstractions of her environment. Layers of bright acrylic paint are built up, scraped, and sanded down. Sharp edged lines create buildings and pathways that border textured, spray painted surfaces, suggesting the appearance of a city landscape. Oil stick grids, scribbles, and gestures pass over coarse and smooth surfaces, seeking solution within defined areas. Her work yields insinuations of the body, moments of flux, and discovers unexpected results through material experimentation
